A set of three objects/paintings entitled “Mutt.pl” is a response to artificially generated gossip and rumour spread over the internet. The eponymous Board is presented as a gossip website with a characteristic pink layout. The project refers to an installation (Pony) I realized a few months before, in which I promoted the art patron of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław Eugeniusz Geppert through the set of advertising gadgets. The blue pony had become a hero of a filthy rumour that has distorted an interesting idea. The rumour concerns the alleged profits that I was said to make from selling the popular gadgets and is entitled “Cuddly scam in Wrocław.”The project encompasses a set of three objects – showcases 50 x 50 cm. In the first one I present a gossip as a digital print. In the second and third showcases I exhibit advertising gadgets that provoked the intrigue – herded blue ponies and a white T-shirt with an inscription.

Cuddly scam in Wrocław!!!
District Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław received a crime notification. Well-known artist from Wrocław Marlena Promna was accused by Eugeniusz Geppert’s (initiator of Wrocław School of Painting) grandson Helmut Geppert of illicitly using the most important symbol of his grandfather’s artistic creation for commercial purpose. The enterprising artist used the idea of promoting the name of the patron of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław as a pretext to fabricate a set of advertising gadgets based on a pattern that can be found in Eugeniusz Geppert’s paintings. The small blue pony produced in a mass scale in China has a wide appeal in Poland. Placed on cups and T-shirts, it has become a national symbol. It is estimated that the profit gained from selling the advertising gadgets has already reached about 5 million dollars. It appears that the profits will be even higher, as the blue pony has become the official symbol of Wrocław – European Capital of Culture 2016.
