PONY Meeting Movement, Neisse Gallery, Goerlitz 2011
The project “Pony” refers to the works of Eugeniusz Geppert. The artist's favourite theme was a horse. Pink, blue or white, closed and quite dynamic contour. Often placed centrally in his paintings, it was the most characteristic motif for the initiator of Wrocław School of Painting. The project aims to popularize the art patron of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław and change the image of respectable Eugeniusz Geppert so that he is perceived as a contemporary artist and a designer in vogue; elevation to the rank of a painter of pop culture icons. The primary tool for popularizing the work of old masters is the commercialization of their art. "Marilyn Monroe" by Andy Warhol, "Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci, "The Persistence of Memory" by Salvador Dali on shirts, mugs, and other gadgets are now the norm, the basic mechanism of marketing, they promote the collections of famous galleries and museums. In this way, the memory of the artist is still alive, and the need to explore the collection still present.
